Don't believe everything you see...

You all have got to run through this slide show from Newsweek magazine. They show you oodles of examples of how magazine photos are changed to make women look thinner and more perfect.

I love a pretty magazine cover as much as the next girl, but in these cases they would have had perfectly lovely photos even without the trickery! And hello, we girls don't need to compare ourselves to women who are impossibly perfect.

Check it out!

Wow. I never knew that celebs do that much changing before it's printed on magazines! I knew they did some, but not that much! I think lots of girls should see that because they're trying to get bodies like that.

OH MY GOODNESS. The Madonna pic was the one that impressed me the most. It's such a big and fake difference with the reality. I think they should just photograph people for who they really are instead of making them someone completely different for a little fake fashion magazine. All those pics do is make other people feel bad about themselves and think these women are perfect when in fact it's not even close. Don't you think?

Wow! I knew people were photoshopped but now I know exactly what they photoshop. It's not a good influence on kids either because some kids would luh-v to be just as skinny as models but they are bone thin and photoshopped even more to look even thinner!

The Ralph Lauren was is flat-out SCARY! I'm only ten years old but like 5 foot 2, so when I need a size 12 jeans instead of 10 I feel fattish. I really need to remember
1: I'm tall and
2: I am beautiful, no matter what!

Really, I wisj all the weight talk would stop- just eat healthfully and exercise , and we'd all be fine!

OMG!! the ralph lauren one was just plain not healthy!!! then they went and photo shopped this already unhealthy girl this is terrible!!! like being over weight and wayyy to skinny are both bad but no one ever talks about that... this is a good thing to show to TWEENS cuz they have no idea that ppl actually photoshop pics like that and they dont realize how easy it is.
