Moving up to cup bras
Dear PLS,
I'm so afraid to ask my mom to buy me cup bras. Although I'm kinda flat I think it's time I get out of these sweaty and small training bras.
How do I ask her? Please help me.

when i went shopping with my mom for bras i just got sport bras and training bras with one cup bra and i was flat at the time now i kinda fill it out just pull aside your mom and say i want a cup bra can we buy one some time worked for me the second time beside i was ten when i got my first bras all that i listed above then i turned 11 and i needed some bigger sizes after puberty started on me this year

Well C.W. cup bras are needed once you can see your nipples through you bra. If you are not ready for one try a bigger size in training bras. If you are ready ask your mom. Moms know alot about this kind of stuff.
okay here's what u do, just ask her mom i need "underwear" and tell her u know bras, and then say i want the one with hooks at the back and the cups because u think ur ready 4 them , thats just what i did =) i hope i helped

Just ask your mom. They went through it too, and if she's not convinced you need a cup bra, tell her that double A bras work for people like you (and me.)

If your breasts havent developed enough for cup bras and yet you don't want to wear a sweaty training bra, then just wear a sports bra then, they arn't sweaty and perfect for all girls. Hope this helps.
Well, why do you want one? Do you think you need one? You will at one point so don't go rushing into it
just take a deep breath. your mom was a preteen once too. she probably understands exactly what you are going through. why don't you sit down with her and you could say something like -this is a little uncomfortable for me but I think it is time for me to look into a cup bra -or could we talk about bras just be really forward about what you want, but make sure that you actually want a cup bra because you think it would make you more comfortable not because you are pressured into it by your friends or people around you. last idea is that you could think of a compromise of something in the middle, there are bras made with very little padding that are junior size and generally used for girls who aren't quite ready for a padded bra, but have grown out of training bras and remember your body is at it's own pace and you should do whatever YOU feel best with good luck :D
if u dont think u need one, why do u want one? i think u should wait until u need a real bra. maybe try sports bras? cup bras are not as comfortable i dont think.

try talking to a sister or emailing your mom email is much less confrontational and rember the worst thing that could happen is she says no (I prayed about it its nice to be able to talk to god/jesus about my problems)
cup bras are comfy i sleep in them but I'm really skinny so it may be diffrent on diffrent body types
okay so don't worry. cup bras are horrible the first few days but that's only if you get the underwire ones i was foolish enuf 2 get those my first time after a while they're really comfy and u'll lov em but don't rush into it if you don't have anything and you get one it might look weird or fake so don't get one if u aren't ready
i have a bit of chest but not much-i talked to my older sister and i asked my mum if i could have a bra. She bought me two 32aa padded (because i asked her to get the padded) from Next. Goodluck! x
If you are too flat a cup bra would be very uncomfortable. It would keep moving so if they are too big still wait maybe a few more months
listen i was really nervous to when i wanted my first bra and i never thought i could ask but what i did was when i got to the mall and we were near a store i just asked and she did not even seem to suprised but if they dont fit you just wait a few more months and try a sports bra
Go up to your mom. Make sure your in privet, no older brother. Say "Hey mom, I think I'm ready for a different bra. I was thinking maybe a cup bra?" Then, the question is in your moms hands. Maybe she will say "Sure, honey. Maybe we can go shopping this weekend." Or maybe she will say "Honey, I don't think your ready yet. Maybe in a few months we will see how you are developing, okay?" Don't be hurt by your moms words. Remember, she is doing the best she can for you. She's doing what SHE thinks is best.
Your mom knows better than you about bras because she probaly has used bras for a long time if she thinks your ready your ready. JUST ASK!!!
I have the same problem. I really want a cup bra, but I have what are called "breast buds". I tried to ask her tonight, but I chickened out. Im going shopping with a friend this weekend, so my plans are:
1) buy one with my friend and show it to my mom when I get home
2) buy one with my friend, take a picture of it, and send it to my mom explaining what it is I'm getting
3) tomorrow tell her I would like one and that I tried one on for fun before with a friend (which I really did) and that it fit me pretty well, and pray she'll approve.
Please help me with what to do!
just go up to her and say mom will u please take me shpping and go with her and just buy one but make sure u do it in private

at first i didn't have any bra and when i asked for a bra my mom got me a sports bra(after saying no a few times). try emailing her and while your emailing her tell her why you think you need it.

if your really nervous i think you should show your mom what you showed us. if she says no try a sports bra. they're comfy and not sweaty at all.
I didn't have the exact problem. I was at the mall with my mom and I told her I needed some new bras. We went into a women's store that sells them and all they ha were cup bras so I got one that fits. If your mom takes you to the kids department say that you think you would like to look in the womens or juniors
I wanted one too! I just pulled her aside and said "I think i am ready for a cup bra." Just ask her it might be embarrassing but your mom has gone through it too! I was in your same situation. I wanted one and i felt like i needed one but i was also scared! Hope i helped. trust me your mom knows!

so if your mom ever goes to look at bras for herself while she's with you maybe look at some for yourself and then try them on i mean if she see's you trying them on and they fit she might realize that
you're ready for them

Ok this is what happened to me, I was at the store with my dad and I called my mom and said "mom I need another bra but there all padded" and she was just like "well a little padding won't kill ya!" so but it kinda just happened, it was luck that there was just cupped bras cuz I act needed a cup bra.

I have the same problem!Except my mom thinks I don't like wearing bras! I only wear sports bras and she just wants to get me more sports bras, but I find that they don't give enough support! Help!
I asked my mom if we could go shopping sometime because i need more socks and underwear (i did need new socks) then when we were at the store i said, "i think i might be ready for a different kind of bra now, mom." It worked so i think thats a good way.

Maybe your mom does not want to see you grow up so fast.She is probably not ready for it even though you arelet her take some time to see that you are growing upshow her how badly you need one
You can just calmly sit down with a parent or someone you feel you trust enough to ask "Do you think I could get a cup bra" of course you may be nervous, if so take four deep breaths and what about when your mom was a girl?? She might have asked the same thing to someone she trusted! Now if you ask your dad take the four deep breaths and say something like "Dad, I think I need a cup bra now" or you could be like "Dad I need some new underwear" and when you go to get your underwear you can find some bras quickly try them on and if you do this make sure you have the money and you are a lone!!! And so you but them and wear them... I hope this helps!
I'm so tired of sports bras!They are really comfortable, but I have 2 and they're WAY 2 small! whenever I take it of before bed it like leaves a mark on my back from where i was wearing it! + my mom is gunna buy me 6 more this week... even though she said the same last week and the weeks before that!!! Can you measure your bra size with hard(but bendy from tool box or something) measuring tape? I can't find the soft one.
My grandma just sent me some cup bras, but they were all lacy so i won't wear them. My mom also just went out and bought some. Most of them are a little to big though. I'm just gonna ask her to buy me some new bras. Sport bras are really comfy until you can get a cup bra. They just have to be the right size.
It's true. I'm wearing sports bras just untill the time comes that I need to wear cup bras. But girls, don't let them "SPORTS" part fool you. It just means tthat it helps them to not move around as much so it can be helpful while playing sports.
Cup bras tend to make your boobs bounce around when u r playing sports, so if you play sports often, I suggest u use a sports/training bra. But if u think u will feel more comfortable with cup bra then u should just ask ask your mom, she went though it as well. Hope this helps! :)
I remember being that age. I'm in college now, but when I was 13 I couldn't wait to grow up. Its a scary time, but also very fun! I got my first cup bra when I was about 12. By the time I got it I had already developed into a B cup! Its scary to ask, but remember its nothing to be afraid of! Its just a piece of clothing, so be calm when you talk to your parent; they'll see how mature you are and get you one! Be sure to get measured every 6 months, I never got told to so I wore that B-cup bra until I was 17 and a DD-cup! That was terribly uncomfortable! So make sure to check at least 6 months, or if you gained or lost weight, or you've noticed significant breadt growth. : ) happy shopping!

Well what happened with me was when i was visiting with my aunt my aunt popped in saying 'someone needs to go shopping for some rbas!" We went the same day and i asked if i coudl get padded onse cuzza sensitiveness and she said said! Soo try telling her about how sensitive they are!
I just turned eleven and when i was ten my mom and i were just shopping around in the kids section because i needed some shirts since i'm so skinny and i grow too tall. On our way to the fitting room there were some bras and i hardley ever noticed them but then my mom said do you want these so she just got a couple training bras a medium and small and i tried them on with my shirts. The small fit and i got two triangle bras and 3 cami bras. My advice is usually your mom will notice and know when you need one so just be patient and if it doesn't happen by the summer before 6th grade then you should ask that summer for any kind of bra you want.
Just wear a sports bra for now and if your breasts start to become bigger ask your mom. I know you're so anxious to grow up but you can wait. Ask your mom in a calm, nice way or just say "mom, my old bras don't fit anymore." and she will say oh we have to go get some new ones don't we? And then your problem will be solved. I am 12 now and I still don't wear a cup or padded bra! Everyone else in my grade 7 class does! I measured and the difference of my band and bust size was 1 inch so I am not sure if I am ready yet. If I am I am still way to scared to ask my mom! Plz help :(
Never mind^^^^ Me and my mom are going bra shopping today!! I asked her :) for all of those girls out there who are to afraid, it's really not a big deal! Now I feel like a giant brick has been lifted off my back ;) Oh and here is some advice, for your first bra, go get some cheap ones from a department store cuz ur going to grow out of them really fast. My mom told me that and she said that once I stay one size for a while, I can go shopping without her or with friends ( not awkward cuz they do it all the time), and go get myself good ones that are expensive =) hope this helped :)

just take a deep breath and tell your mom. she will understand. but if you just want a cup bra for the sake of wanting one then the only thing you'll get is a lecture. i totally know how you feel, I'm in a TRAINING BRA for haven's sake!i want to get to REAL bras already! so ask if you need them, and if you don't, then don't bother

Hey i have the same problem. Just keep ur bras for the next couple of days and wen u have worked up ur confidence do one of these 3 things:) 1: say mom i am ready 4 a cup bra wen she is shopping for a new bra for u( i reccomend getting a soft cup) and say the reasons y. 2: buy a soft cup bra with ur friends wen u think u r ready and text or email her and explain y u think u r ready. You could tell your mom, that u think ur ready for a padded bra.I'm sure she'll understand. Or just say you think it's time u had some new underwear.Or if your chest isn't as full,i suggest u don't use cup bras.Try sports bras,or crop tops.hope i helped.

You have to say something to your mom. But only do this when your mom is in a good mood AND semi-distracted on the computer or reading labels on something at the grocery store. This is what you should say:
You: Hey, mom?
Mom: Yes?
You: The training bras you bought me are really tight. I was wondering if I could get one with cups...? It would be a lot more comfortable..
Mom: Are you sure?
You: Yeah.
Mom: Okay, if you're sure, we'll go get some this Friday, okay?
End of story.
It might be super-embarrassing, but trust me; you'll feel a LOT better when you just ask. I've been there myself and was super-nervous and even chickened out a couple times. But I was relieved after I finally got it over with. Besides, asking only takes 20 seconds of courage...
And yes, I think you're ready for a cup bra. I was 11 when I started wearing a cup bra and stayed the same size for a long time.
If you don't want to have the conversation I suggested, you could go all out and say, "Mom, I need to wear a real bra." If she asks why just tell her! She's your mom and was probably was in this exact same dilemma when she was your age. She wears bras, too, you know...
Just be confident and try not to sound nervous when you ask.

Your mom probablydoesnt want you to grow up say something about it like "mom I know this is kinda embarrassing. I know you probably don't want me growing up but I think its time for a bigger bra." We also use the term cuppage instead of bras. Don't be afraid to ask her just close your eyes and keep your eyes on the pride( the cuppage")
Hey I have some good advice. Don't be scared to ask even if its in front of your brother. What's the worst your brother can do say to his friends that you need a bigger bra. Ya that's what I thought

i think that when you think your ready go to the store with your mom pick out a bra that properly fits you put in the basket and she'll most likely ask u if ur ready say yes and there you now have a cup size bra
I just ''finished'' wearing a training bra, and instead of a cup bra I just wear a sports bra, a camisole, or a soft cup bra.
Omg!! i felt the exact same way when i needed a bra for d first time. i kept giving my mom lots of hints. finally after about 3 months i finally got d curage 2 ask her if i cud get a proper bra insted of a crop top. the next day my mam took me out to get me measured and to purchase me my first bra. listen. dont be afraid to ask your mom/dad if u need supplies etc. theyll probably b expecting u to ask them about it soon. i hope this helps cuz it did 4 me.

I'm 13 and I still wear a cami but I really need a bra. In worried mum will say no when I ask, because she doesn't really have the best fashion sense and wears really baggy stuff. She will also maybe be over-enthusiastic. I really don't want her shouting it out to the world but I need a bra! Any ideas? Pls help!!

Here's what u should do: When your mom is resting but awake or she's reading in her bedroom go and fold your laundry near her when nobody else is there. Then when you get to folding your bra, hold it up to her and say "Mom, can we go to the store and get a different kind of this? I think i want the kind with cups." She'll understand and you won't even have to say the word bra. It's easier and less embarrassing, and trust me u don't have to do it exactly like this she could be doing something else as long as it's just you and your mom and you're folding your laundry near her. Me and my mom are really close in height and rib size. So I asked her for some new bras and she said there was no money for new bras so she went and found some of her old and to small bras and gave them to me. Ask her if she has any old cup bras that might fit you
What I did was go to the mall to a store that selld padded bras and walk past them. But when you are walking by bump into the shelf infront of your mom. This was te results.
Mom: are you ok honey?
Me: yes Im fine
Mom: *looks at bras and put three padded in the cart*
Me: *I walk behind a different shelf* "Yes!" * I calmly waalk back to my mom as she pays.*
I think I need a new bra like a cupped one. I'm afraid to ask my mom I turned 12 last week and have been wearing training bras since I wu10. My nipples show thru my bras and I dont want to wear sports bras! All my friends wear underwire or padded bras. I went with my girl cousins the same age and we all needed some and havent tried a padded one and we all bought one together! i showede my mom after shopping and she just said okay tell me when you need more hun!

I asked my mom for a cup bra one day when my brother and dad weren't around and my mom said,"you can get a cup bra if that's the next size,because you have to go size by size or else it will hurt your breasts."and,"i would love to but, it has to be the next size!"My b-day is coming soon and my mom said we are going 'girl' shopping. so i'm pretty sure she's getting me a cup bra.P.S. my aunty works at a store that sells bras and that stuff so that helps too! good luck!
