Make a date with ... your mom

We're glad you guys are interested in getting along better with your mom. There were some good questions asked in our earlier post (How to talk to your mom: Step 1). We're going to answer them soon. But first, we have a splendid idea.

Three weeks from today is Self-Esteem weekend. You know what self-esteem is, right? It's the way each of us thinks about ourselves. No one wants to be super-conceited, but I think we all want to feel good about how we look, how smart we are, etc. etc.

So that's where Self-Esteem weekend comes in. It's October 22-24th and it's part of a new campaign from Dove. They want girls and women to enjoy how they look rather than be all freaked out about it. A great goal - don't you think?

Grownup women, especially our moms, can help us a lot in that department. So why not tell your mom you want to spend an hour with her on Self-Esteem weekend? There are lots of ideas of stuff you can do together. Find more info HERE.

But here's one activity you MUST ask her to do. Ask her this question:

Mom, what do you wish you knew at 13?

Your mom - or special woman in your life - can share her wisdom with you. And, if she likes, she can share her answer on the Dove website. I am dying to hear what my mom will say. Imagine, my reading-glasses-around-her-neck mother was once 13!

Think pink!
