Jordan's two problems: Can you help?

Almost the instant I put up the last post, Jordan chimed in with this...

Dear PLS,
My cousin says that my boyfriend likes another girl, and besides that fact, I am super afraid for my period. PLEASE HELP ME!

Jordan, 11

I say you shouldn't worry about your boyfriend unless you have more evidence. Did he tell your cousin this info about the other girl? I'm guessing not.

As for the other problem, please don't be afraid of periods. Instead, get informed (start by reading THIS) and get prepared. Just carrying a pad or two in a pencil case can make all the difference.

What else, Pink Locker Girls? Any more advice for Jordan?

Think pink!
Jemma

P.S. Here's something funny: In the Pink Locker Society books, we talk about the PBBs (periods, bras, and boys) Jordan has asked us about about the P and the second B. All she needs is a question about bras and we'd have all three!

ok if your boy friend does like some one else heres some clues just in case.1. he keeps staring at another girl.2.he cancels stuff and it takes him a little while to answer. And 3 The most most dangerous on of all you see him with ANOTHER girl and he has his hand around either her shoulder or her hip. as long as you look for these signs you can figure out if he does like some one else.

Don't be afraid of your period, it won't be that bad, and don't freak out about your boyfriend unless you have evidence, your cousin might just be jealous!

I have a similar problem! My "friends" say my boyfriend was flirting with another girl and putting her arm around her yesterday at school, but I know my boyfriend was sick at home yesterday because he wasn't in any of the classes we have toghether! My friends are lying, I know, but every time I tell them to stop or that I know they are lying they just say "don't tell me I didn't warn you." It is making me feel bad! How do I tell them to stop and actually have them listen!

When your period comes, talk to a trusted woman or a good friend who got hers already. EVERY girl (almost) gets their period sooner or later. I'm not scared of mine. No one should be. Think of it this way: You now have the ability to bring another soul into the world. JUST NOT UNTIL LIKE 10 YEARS!! (I am very against teen pregnancy) About your boyfriend, Try not to believe your cousin till you have absolute proof he likes someone else.

wen i first got my priod i was at home(thank goodness) i was freaking out and my instincts told me to call my friend and ask 4 help. she went threw this and knew exactly how to help me. also me and my friends r aways joking about our periods because we say if theres nothing we can do about it we should just embrace it. wen u become comfortable with it and have friends who can. its fun thrilling and also a little scary but its 1 week every month out of the bajillion other weeks and days so dont worry it ends in a week and u just move on

Even though i haven't had my period, I know you shouldn't be afraid of it. It's something that has to happen during your life, and you should be happy when it comes! For your boyfriend problem, don't believe your cousin until you have the evidence.

hey girl, dont be scared about your period. I know i seems like a huge deal right now! (trust me i have been there! =]) but it really is not that bad! The best advice i could give you for right now is talk to your mom! she had been there and she knows exactly how you feel plus she cares for you a ton! and talk to your friends together you will be just fine!

Hey! I haven't had my period yet but I will try to help you out. So first of all you shouldn't be scared of it! It will happen naturally when the time comes and you won't even feel it. Plus it only happens for a few days every month! Second of all don't freak about ur bf!!!!! If he is a good bf he shouldnt go break ur trust and go behind your back! If I were you I wouldnt worry until you find hard core cold evidence!!!!! Just follow ur instincts! Hope I helped! :D

Okay first of all you are 11, so this boy may think that "going out" is just "oh i like you." So he may think you arent "dating", and, therefore, he is allowed to like another girl.

Well, that is a problem. But how do you know your cousins not lying? If he/she is a trustworthy person, maybe he/she is telling the truth. But if your cousin is known for little white lies, or huge lies, you might want to have a little chat with your boyfriend. Maybe you should look for this different girl that he supposedly 'likes' and maybe you could find hard core evidence yourself. If it's true that he's going out with another girl, that's okay. He wasn't a good guy for you. Dump him and stay strong. You'll find the right guy someday.

Hope It Helped.

PS.
I haven't had my period yet, and I am a little scared too. I have been told, though, that it doesn't hurt, and you can barely feel it!

Hope THIS Helped! :D XD

hey, don't worry about your period. I read on kids health.org and talked to my mom, even though I was super scared. It's not so bad once you get used to it.

Hey! Don't Be Afraid of your period. One girl on my cheer squad got hers at practice when she was up doing a pyramid and blood was leaking down. Hopefully you'll handle it okay. I personally prefer tampons, but only after about 3 months after having it (:

Don't feel embarassed...I'll tell you THIS story and you'll be glad you at least know what's going to happen!!! Last year I was in the restroom at my school and the girl in the stall next to me started freaking out because she got her period and didn't even know what a period WAS!!!! I didn't have mine then, either, but she totally went beserk thinking she had some kind of insane diease that made her bleed!!! Be thankful you won't be this girl when it happens!

Maybe what your cousin is saying may not be 100% true. Don't get me wrong, family is usually reliable. But yeah, you don't know for sure he likes another girl. As for your period, don't worry. Once you start getting signs of your period, tell your mom and start putting pads in your backpack, locker, room, bathroom, purse... pretty much everywhere so you'll have one if it comes anywhere. Just remember to keep them hidden from sight of other people!
