Question No. 1: Rosacea

Here we go...Question No. 1 from the Valentine's Day bunch!

Dear PLS,
Alright. I have an annoying "disease" called Rosacea that makes my nose red. My arms are also red too. It’s winter now, so I don't mind wearing my jacket. But what do I do in the summer? I always feel like people are staring at my nose. Help please!
Me, 13

First off, it's good to know as much as you can about this skin problem. Here's a website with tons of information.

Second, I'd say you should talk with your parents and your doctor about it. They can make sure you're getting the best treatment for the problem. And thirdly, please remember that everybody has something not perfect about themselves. Surround yourself with fun and supportive friends.

Any other advice for our friend?

Think pink!

If it's safe with your skin condition and all, you could try putting a tiny bit of makeup on your nose, if you feel really bad about it. But if that doesn't work out just learn to be happy with the way you look, because that's what counts! :)

I kinda have Rosacea and it is really annoying, but on the bright side, you never have to wear blush! Just be happy with who you are.

Hey, just be yourself! Who really cares what other people think, and all that matters is on the inside, not the outside! Good Luck! :)

yeah it is hard, but i don't know anyone who wouldn't like you just because of your skin tone. i know that i always look for a good personality in my friends, and you seem like a nice girl so I'm sure that you will have no problems with not having friends. good luck with finding a cure!

Just ignore it if anyone is looking at you weirdly after all you are you and that will never change so just be happy with who you
are !
