Heavy discharge: Is it a clue about her first period?
Today's question is tricky...
Does it mean ur gonna get ur period soon when u start getting really bad discharge or does it just come in spurts!! I've had discharge 4 a while but lately it has been worse, what should I do?? DOES IT MEAN IM GONNA GET MY PERIOD?? And, is discharge worse that ur period, cuz it is already a pain!!
Let's start with the fact that discharge IS a sign that a girl's period may be on it's way soon. It usually appears about 6 months to a year before a girl's first period. But I've never heard of the discharge amount being a clue that a first period is going to happen, like, IMMEDIATELY. So I'd relax and stay prepared.

Hello. Well I have had discharge for 8 months now but still no period. I spoke to my Mom and she says that discharge is a sign your period is around the corner. Your period DEFINITLEY wont come immediently after. Just talk to whoever you feel comfortable talking to and keep some pads in your locker. Hope this helps
I've had discharge for a long time, over a year actually. I have started developing everything- exept the period and the breasts... Should I be worried?

Idk if you should be worried but I can tell you that your not alone. I've had dsicharge for quite a while and have been getting hair and even needing to shower and use deoterant constantly. I have barely any breast buds and no period. everything started developing at once with my mom (she never had discharge) it seems that I won't be much like her. She was nothing like her mom either. Idk if we are normal but at lest we are not alone.

@LovePink: It isn't too bad. Some girls find discharge is better than there period and some girls find it worse. Ever girl is unique. I found discharge to be just the same as my period. Hope this helped :)

Well I never got discharge so I don't know what it's like, but I do have my period and all I know is that my period is a pain. But I'm guessing if you get discharge you might get used to changing panty-liner (if you wear it) like you would for changing pads/tampons when your on your period. Good luck!

You don't need pads but try panty liner ( a thinner version of pads) but here is a play of wat u could say 2 ur mom:
You: "Mom,can I talk to you privatly?"
Mom: "Sure, honey!"
You: "Can we go to the drug-store?"
Mom: "Why?"
You: "I think I need panty-liner"
and it'll go on like that. But you may get your period sooner than 6 months, but it depends on how long you've had discharge for. Good Luck! :)
I've had discharge for about a year now and told my Mom about the 3rd day I discovered it. I woke up this morning to find a streak of brown/yellow on my pad? Is this my period? If so any tips for using a tampon??
im having heavy discharge and no period but i guess you might get it soon enough there's no dates for it use pantyliners, HOPE I HELPED :*
Im not too sure what it could be, but it might be discharge AND your period(somtimes the blood comes out brown) but if it is, for using a tampon, I suggest going to beinggirl.com and go to "tampon training camp" it sounds wierd (but it's not) and it's really helpful! P.S. u can also use pads if you like.

Talk to your mom about this. I'm not sure what it is but your body is changing so its probably just adjusting to the new stage but im scared, i started my first ever period december 18 and tomorrow is january 18. is my period gunna start again?!?! I need to know ASAP!
Well, I had discharge for about a year and have just started my periods. The discharge varied and my mum said it dosent neccesserily get heavier just before you start your periods. But I would buy some pads anyway just so you are prepared for when you start your periods

yeah it could mean that you were getting ready to start your period but usually a year after you start getting the discharge in your underwear you start your period but thats how it was for me

trust me girleys, you don't want to start your period its awfull! And don't feel left-out because eveyones bodies are different! Ask your momma what age she started her period at and that age is your likely age you will start yours. YOUR NOT ALONE!

Where does discharge come from in the vagina?
I've had discharge for about a year, and I have all the signs above and even sometimes cramps before/after my discharge. I haven't told my mom about the discharge, because at first I thought it could have been yeast infection but then I found this :) it has been wrecking my underwear and I have been secretly washing them by my self whenever it happens with stain remover....it usually gets the stain out....I'm going to tell my mom and ask for pantyliners now that ik it's natural ;) I had a HUGE amount yesterday and I thought it was my period because it felt wet in my underwear. Hi I'm 13 and I've had a white/clear kinda discharge for a while now (aprox a 1/2 year)and just this past week I've been getting stomach cramps and today my discharge was brown with a bit of pnky/red blood. I'm just wondering why that was happening and if that means my period will be starting soon?
Yes it could be a sign ur periods going to come in like a week or it could mean you have just started ur period! :) well in 5.3 ft and I am a 32 B and I am dead skinny and I'm 13 so I'm wondering when I will get my period :(
