I think I'm going to have my period soon but i have trouble talking to my mom!It took me 7 months to get the courage to text(!) my mom to shave my legs, about the same time to finally ask my mom to wear bras without chickening, and after a couple months, again, i finally emailed my mom to ask for cup bras. but i cant wait that long to tell my mom about my period. how do i work up the courage and what should i say when my period does come??? please helpppp!

I thought that my crush/friend (who is a guy and says i'm like a sister to him) was going to a different school next year. So I wanted to say goodbye to him the day before the last day just in case I wouldn't see him. So I asked if we could say goodbye and he said ok. Don't be afraid to tell ur mom about ur period,I'm sure she would understand cuz all girls has there periods and if u don't tell ur mom about ur period,then u just might end up bleeding everywhere so,tell ur mom about it and ask her for a extra pad in case the time has come.

hey everyone, I first wanted to say to a lot of you, who ha questions about shaving or bras or periods; I think it is best to talk to a female adult you trust, (doesn't have to be ur mom) it is so much easier to deal with when you have someone to talk you through it who knows what is going on. Friends try, and they are great, but they only know so much. AT NATIE I am so sorry, that must really suck. I don't know much about what is going on but I would sugest talking to someone who can hep, and standing up for your self. Also try not to show when you are hurt from their comments, they probably feel powerful by knowing they can toy with you. I believe in you! :) To people with questions about what to do about liking a guy, go talk to him. Worst thing that can happen is they don't like you back. If you like him, and want to go places with that, you need to make that move. Do not be like my friends who are hopelessly in love and don't do anything about it. I agree with gg. How can you get expelled? Every girl gets their period. If the head teacher doesn't know that, their not a very good teacher after all. And I personally suggest sending your mom a text or email about your period. It's easier than telling her in person.
Dont worry. Your mom understands. Remember she was once your age, struggling to tell her mom the same things. Remember this:
Pros: your mom will buy you pads or tampons, your mom will give you any advice you need
Cons: embarassing
Which one has more? Pros! You can do it!

Talk with a parent of a councilor. Trust me, this is what a councilor's job is, they know what they're doing. Also, parents help you with lots of stuff, including this. If you need to, you can change schools.
Now importantly, remember who you are. You said you know stuff. I'm assuming that means You're smart. That can help get you into a good collage and then a well paying job. those other kids are bullying you because you're smarter than them. I don't think that even makes sence. Smart kids are the ones who are successful in the future. Think of the song "Mean" by Taylor Swift.
Also, you said you do have friends. Who cares what those other kids say about you when you have friends who've got your back?

Okey, the quick stuff:
The thing youre getting right now is vaginal discharge. It usually happens 6-12 months before your first period. That doesn't mean anything, though. I had it for 2 years before my first period.
A period CAN hurt, but its usually not too bad. Some girls have bad cramps, some dont feel a thing. A cramp on your first period is usually hardly anything. If you do get horrible cramps, there is medicine you can take to help. Dont be afraid to talk to a mom
Exercise helps. I'm not completely sure how, but I think its half because your moving and half because your mind is on something's else.

I'm going into 8th grade too and I still have what I call "pre-boobs". Remember, even though your boobs are growing in a bit late, they will grow to look about the same size as everyone else's. It may be annoying right now, but it will get better.

First of all, calm down. Right. I am in the same situation. Simple solution. Sports bra. They work miricles. You dont want one thats too tight. So perhaps get the bigger size. Maybe get your mum to adjust them a bit. Make up your own size! Hope I helped!

Guys, I have somethin' to say. I don't shower and wash my hair everyday. It makes my skin all weird. And my hair gets oliy really easy plus it gets dry easily....it's no gross. I wear deodorant. I make sure I have good hygiene.

You can tell by the way he behaves around you. of course there is the obvious flirting, showing off, smiling, etc. you can tell if he talks to you a lot, like, suddenly, or if he just compliments you all the time.

A pad should feel comfortable. If you are OK with feeling your pad, you can use a thick pad. If you don't want to feel it at all, you can use a thin pad, even if you have a heavy pad. I've used heavy absorbency pads from Always that were still super thin!
I wouldn't really recommend this for your first couple of periods, but if you want to, you can use tampons.

If you don't want people to know, wear a jacket over. Don't let brothers tease you either. And don't worry about friends knowing, because sooner or later, they will be wearing one too. And if you don't want the padded ones, just wear the training ones. But once you get big enough, you will probably want padded ones. Hope that helps.

I'm with ya there, Bev. For a long time I felt like I needed a bra but I was to embarrassed to ask. It turned out my mom just bought some without asking! I'm just nervous about how I'm gonna tell her I need the next size up!š Anyway, my point is, it's most likely your mom will come to you! And if not you could always send her a casual email or text.

Please help me! I really want to lose weight because I feel chubby, especially when I stand next to my friend. She weighs more than me and her waist is the same size, or let's face it, probably a bit skinnier, but she's like 5 or 6 inches taller! And she makes fun of other people a lot. I usually go along with her, not because I'm trying to fit in, but because she's usually pretty accurate and I like to laugh at people to. Just one problem, her brother told my brother that my friend makes fun of me when I'm not there! He might have been just saying that to make me feel bad, and aI asked her if she does and she said that she doesn't, but I can't shake the feeling that she really does, because she finds the flaws in almost everyone and makes fun of them, and I feel like there are a lot of things about me that she could make fun of. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to make her sound mean, but it hurts more because in every other way we get along really well, and I don't want to think about her that way. PS I'm 12 years old and 4'11" and my friend is around 5'4'
